What is OAMTA?

Oshkosh Area Music Teachers Association has been in existence since 1974.  We were formerly known as OAKTA, Oshkosh Area Keyboard Teachers, but now have expanded our borders to include any teachers of music who wish to be part of our group.  We are an organization of independent music teachers who have banded together to help and learn from each other as we also grow in our professional careers of teaching music to people of all ages.  By working and sharing together, we have grown in numbers, in experience and in our capacity to offer our students quality music instruction.

These organizations serve our needs by providing a periodical, The American Music Teacher, which covers enlightening and helpful information;  a quarterly newsletter which informs members of pertinent issues at the state level;  sponsoring annual district and State Auditions (for all instruments and voice), and making available to members materials and information on everything from certification to networking.

OAMTA is also grateful to Heid Music for setting up a new branch in Oshkosh and  hosting our meetings.  We look forward to many years of working wth them.
